Every elected state official takes an oath before God and before his fellow citizens to "uphold the Constitutions of the State of Utah and of the United States."

In harmony with that solemn oath, Parley will tenaciously--but tactfully--seek to bring Utah government into line with the legal documents from which state government draws its authority: the state and federal Constitutions.
As he does so, he will base all his efforts as a legislator on the principles in those "founding documents" and in the most important founding document of all--the Declaration of Independence, which defines the ideals on which our state and federal Constitutions are based.
